12 Things Newcastle Fans Need To Know About Patrick Vieira's Managerial Career

5. Vieira Can Be "A Jokey Kind Of Guy" As A Coach - But When He Talks Seriously "He Just Takes Over The Whole Room"

Vieira's playing style was combative, destructive and extremely physical. He was a tall, powerful midfielder who loved to advance with the ball. Yet his management style appears to be a little less in your face. His former Man City teammate, Joe Hart, explained to the Manchester Evening News about how Vieira acted as both a leader and a coach:
"I get into our young lads all the time about who they have in charge of them - Patrick Vieira, what a player! "I got the very back end of his career. He is a jokey kind of guy, very laid back but he has this thing about him where, if all of a sudden he decides to be serious and talk, he just takes over the whole room. He has that respect from all the players, still now. "I'm just scared that the young players are going to get younger and younger and he is going to get older and older, and they aren€™t going to know who he is. I think he is in the perfect place right now to mould a team, to bring people through. "From what I've seen and heard, he has the capabilities to do it. You€™re pretty raw at 16 or 17 unless you're one of the greatest players on the planet. We are moulding some serious talent that we are trying to get through."
