9. The Ultimate Fighter
The world is obsessed with reality TV. There are reality TV shows for everything no matter how degrading or obscene. As a nation, there is nothing we love more than seeing someones life played out on-screen, particularly if its extremely troubled (why do you think The Jeremy Kyle Show is so successful?). We will watch any form of reality TV whether it be celebrities eating bugs in the jungle, drunken Geordies gallivanting around clubs in Newcastle or ex-prostitutes arguing over a sausage on Big Brother. If the truth be told, there havent been many sports related reality TV shows but The Ultimate Fighter is the cream of the crop and is the perfect way to get into the UFC. The fights are shorter than normal so if youre just getting into the sport it means you wont risk the possibility of watching a 5-round snoozer. We also get to watch the competitors in the house which has made for some great viewing with some fiery characters. We also get to see the more tender, human side of more relatable fighters. The Ultimate Fighter has just the right amount of drama in it to keep the casual fan hooked with often skilled fighter slugging it out to get that life-changing six-figure contract.
