4. Roma v Genoa 1983
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ti7EImV3a0 Juventus were the team to beat in the 1982/83 edition of Serie A, having a formidable attacking formation which included Michel Platini and Polish World Cup legend Zbigniew Boniek. Just as importantly they had a psychological edge over Roma having won the 1981 title following a heavily disputed disallowed goal in their mid season clash which proved decisive in the final points tally. Despite Juventus having the big stars and Platini leading the league with 16 goals, Roma's strategy for success was to have a great defense (anchored by keeper Franco Tancredi) and a world class midfield. This included tactical magician Carlo Ancelotti, Brazilian World Cup star Falcao and legendary captain Agostino Di Bartolomei. Upon winning a title it's not uncommon to see the manager being showered with thanks by his players. However, Roma had gone without a league win since 1942 so it's easy to know why the sight of the pitch invasion and fans carrying coach Nils Liedholm aloft on their shoulders have become ingrained as one of the great celebratory moments in Italian football history.
