The iconic World Cup winning goalkeeper Fabian Barthez swopped his goalie gloves for the steering wheel upon retirement in 2007, taking up a career in motor-racing. Turns out he’s quite good at it, too. In 2013 he was crowned champion of France’s GT Motorsport series, racking up two wins and four podium finishes over the course of the season that ensured he and teammate Morgan Moullin-Traffort claimed the title.

He also took part in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 2014, competing for Team Sofrev ASP. He and teammates Soheil Ayari and Anthony Pons finished the endurance event in a respectable 29th place, showing this is anything but a vanity pursuit for the former Man U keeper.
