15 Worst Premier League Signings Of The 2014/15 Season

4. Mauro Zarate - QPR (Loan)

Is it any surprise that QPR finished bottom of the Premier League when pinning their hopes upon players such as Mauro Zarate? The Argentinian striker did admittedly have a knack for goal throughout his previous spells at Lazio, but failed to find the net during a loan spell from parent club West Ham. It was an underwhelming signing Rangers fans could have done without as their team floundered in the bottom three for much of the season, with only Charlie Austin consistently hitting the target in front of goal. Zarate was sent packing after making just four appearances between January and March, and was outed as an unhelpful influence behind the scenes as well as on the pitch. The Argentine apparently caused a ruckus upon being left out of the matchday squad at Liverpool, and was left to make his own way back to London.
