10. Samuel Eto'o - Everton (Free Signing)

In securing the services of veteran Samuel Eto'o for free, Everton seemed destined to capitalise upon an impressive 2013/14 season. Having enjoyed a stellar career with Barcelona and Inter Milan (among many others), he showed a lingering ability to find the back of the net in his solitary season at Stamford Bridge. Unfortunately for Roberto Martinez and co., the Cameroonian played only 14 league matches for the Toffees (scoring three times in the process) before jetting off to Italy to join Sampdoria. Truth be told, he never looked particularly sharp or motivated on Merseyside anyway.
