Just two minutes into a 1996 match against Manchester United, having ventured forward for a corner, Coventry City defender Dave Busst collided with United players Denis Irwin and Brian McClair. The outcome was extensive compound fractures to both the tibia and fibula of his right leg. United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel was quite famously visibly disturbed by the incident and reportedly vomited on the pitch after seeing the injury.
