Paolo Di Canio's entire career has been riddled with controversy, but no moment was as widely panned (and ridiculed) as his petulant push on referee Paul Alcock. Di Canio was shown the red card while playing for Sheffield Wednesday against Arsenal, and responded with a shove on the official as he turned to leave the pitch. It sent Alcock tumbling to the floor, and resulted in an eleven match ban and a £10,000 fine.
