20 Players Rangers Must Regret Signing

9. Daniel Prodan

If there's one thing every other player included on this list can at least say, it's that they played a game for Rangers. For the Romanian defender, Daniel Prodan, that's not a sentence he can claim with any real accuracy, making a grand total of zero appearances in the famous blue shirt during 3 years under contract. Signed in 1998 for £2.2 million, Prodan didn't even get out of the starting blocks at Ibrox. A serious knee injury suffered during his spell with Athletico Madrid was the cause of the man's problems, and quickly turned the cheers at news of his signing into sighs of frustrations from the Gers support. Incredibly, one of Prodan's old clubs, Steaua Bucharest would take him on loan in 2000, and the guy wouldn't make a single appearance for them either! Rangers fans felt mightily ripped off after a spell, because reports surfaced that his medical certificates had been altered to lie about the fact he couldn't play due to injury, meaning the Glasgow club were duped into signing a player who was never destined to play any matches.
