20 Players Rangers Must Regret Signing

20. Kris Boyd (2nd Time)

During his first spell at the club from 2006-2010, Kris Boyd was a goal-scoring machine, breaking Henrik Larrson's Scottish Premier League scoring record whilst at Rangers. It was that form which convinced clubs from England to look at securing his services, but terms with both Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest didn't prove to be quite as successful as the big man had been North of the border. Similarly, spells in Turkey and North America were disappointing, which led Boyd back to his first club, Kilmarnock in 2013. Slotting right back into the Scottish game, Boyd netted 25 times during season 2013-2014 for the Ayrshire-based outfit, but couldn't resist the lure of Rangers when the blues came calling once again in 2014. Unfortunately for both Boyd and the fans, he struggled to regain his form, only scoring a handful of goals and never really looking anywhere near as dangerous as he had during his first spell. Carrying excess weight and looking rather pedestrian in Ally McCoist's favoured 5-4-1 formation, Boyd was a failure upon re-signing, something the man himself at least admitted during interviews.
