5. Aston Villa's Blackcurrant & White Checkered Away Kit
Aston Villa's new away kit features blackcurrant and white checkered squares. In more ways than one, it resembles battenberg, not only because of its appearance, but because you either love it or hate it. The kit has largely been received positively by Villa fans, but the wider football community hold a much more divided view. Personally, I think it's horrible, but I can understand why people would think otherwise. I accept that football kits need to have identity, but they also need to be visually appealing, and for me Macron's new design isn't. It's likely Villa will be wearing their new away kit when they travel to Arsenal on Saturday, which is sure to spark some more love/hate responses from the public.
