5 Interesting Facts About WSOF 11

2. Melvin Guillard Is Back

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqe0Tg1prjE Melvin Guillard was a popular fighter in the UFC. The fans liked him. Dana White seemed to like him. The only problem was, after an initial successful run, he couldn't find a way to win. A pro since 2002, Guillard would fight twenty-two times in the UFC, even headlining a couple of events. Towards the end though, he was submitted by Joe Lauzon and Jim Miller, KO'd by Cowboy Cerrone, and lost a controversial split decision to Jamie Varner. That might have earned him an extra fight in the long run, as did a fight that ended due to an accidental illegal knee with Ross Pearson - but after a lacklustre decision loss to Michael Johnson after that, he was cut from the promotion. Guillard is fighting JZ Cavalcante at WSOF 11, and it will be interesting to see which Guillard shows up. Here's to hoping it's a return to form.
