5 Lessons Learned From ONE FC 19

2. Koji Oishi Looked Nothing Like A Champion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2RXhRvuZL0 We had high hops for the Koji Oishi fight at ONE FC 19, and it's probably the one bout that was a real letdown. The ONE FC featherweight champion looked outclassed and out of his depth against Jadamba Narantungalag, a relatively unknown challenger who looked stellar in the bout. Narantungalag took advantage of Oishi frequently giving up his back, and didn't fade when the fight went into the championship rounds. By the end of the fourth it was clear that Oishi was going to need a finish to pick up the win, and he didn't really come close. It was a poor outing for the now former featherweight champion from Japan, and it's back to the drawing board for him. Narantungalag, meanwhile, picks up his biggest win since a victory over Akihiro Gono in 2010 at lightweight. How long he can stay at the top in ONE FC's featherweight division is anyone's guess.
