The Portuguese manager was a fan favourite during his previous spell at Stamford Bridge, where he won them their first league title in a generation. Many doubted whether he'd be able to replicate the success he had previously but he's proved his doubters wrong. He's the darling of the British media, which is helpful in a title race as it's difficult when people start to get on your back. Rightly or wrongly, he seems to be untouchable for the English press. His press conferences are often shrouded with mind games and he causes quite a stir with his opponents, putting them off the challenges ahead. On the field he is also capable of outwitting his opponent. His methods of play have caused criticism from many but they won Inter Milan the Champions League during his time in Italy and he's used similar tactics to conquer the Etihad and keep Arsenal quiet at the Emirates. You can't argue with success. Love him or loathe him, there's no denying he's a brilliant manager that can get the best out of his squad and can lead them to glory. Compared to his title rivals, his credentials are the most impressive and Mourinho alone makes Chelsea a threat.
