Dustin Poirier is on a three fight win steak, and he's a fighter with solid upside, but this is one of those cases where you have a fighter (Cole Miller) simply talking up a team mate without thinking about what he's saying. For starters, Poirier has already fought Cub Swanson - just over a year ago, at UFC on Fuel TV: Barao vs. MacDonald, and it did not go well, with "Diamond" losing a unanimous decision to Cub. On top of that, Swanson has been on a tear his own of late. Mendes? Edgar? Not happening. Knocking out Akira Corassani and Diego Brandao (who McGregor just knocked out in Dublin as well) shouldn't get you a Swanson, Edgar, or Mendes. It should get you McGregor, which is exactly what it did. The Poirier/McGregor fight isn't just built on trash talk, though it is heavy on that - it actually makes sense within the division. So yes.
