The Reasons To Be Cheerful...

5. Football Was The Focus Again

Since the arrival of John Carver and arguably for a long time before that, the actual conversation of football, tactics and goal-scorers has been been overpowered by the more tedious tones of finances, hierarchy and the club's general ambition. The start of the Magpies' 2015-16 Premier League campaign felt real again. Fans piled into St James' Park wide-eyed, eagerly waiting to see their new signings, manager, tactics and beloved Newcastle United entertain them for 90 minutes. Anything but a defeat was a suitable result and the giddy optimism and re-kindled interest in the club will still be present for the Swansea City fixture.
