5 Reasons Why Roberto Martinez Will Be The Next Arsenal Manager

1. He Uses His Scouting Network Well

With the ability to bring players through the youth system, Martinez as a result uses his scouting network to the fullest extent. The Spaniard has been instrumental in the careers of several players throughout his career. Angel Rangel, now a firm starter with Swansea, was brought in by Martinez from Spanish side Terrassa CF for a minimal fee, and has gone on to impress at Premier League level. Teammate Ashley Williams has become the captain of Wales since his rise after signing for Martinez following his move from Stockport County, and has been linked with a host of top clubs for his elegant defensive style at the base of Swansea's back line. Wigan were no different. Victor Moses, Mohamed Diame and James McCarthy were all signed by Martinez is his first summer at the club, and all have since gone on to become Premier League regulars. Ali Al-Habsi, Shaun Maloney, Joel Robles and Arouna Kone all followed in subsequent seasons, proving that he has a good eye for talent. Yes there were exceptions to the rule, such as Mauro Boselli, but every manager signs a lemon at some point in their career. At Everton in the summer, the maestro was at it again, only this time with a bigger club he was able to attract bigger players, and in came on loan Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku, Manchester City's Gareth Barry and Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu. All three players have played a huge part in the Toffees rise this season, particularly Lukaku, who has netted eight times already, only three behind Everton's top scorer last season Marouane Fellaini. Wenger is similar to Martinez in the sense that he is able to unearth previously unknown gems, such as Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, and countless others who have gone on to have successful careers with the Gunners. Martinez is proving that he is capable of doing the same and it is skills like this that will stand him in good stead in years to come. In the future when people start making comparisons with Wenger and Martinez they will not scoff and abandon them as has happened in the past, they will instead think about it and come to the conclusion that by the time Wenger is ready to step aside at the Emirates, Martinez will be one of the front runners for the job. Do you think Martinez is destined for big things? Can he achieve something with Everton over the coming seasons?
