5 UFC Challengers Who Could Eventually Beat Ronda Rousey

1. Miesha Tate

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFTGZZ0ZVdc I€™m sure that some people will roll their eyes with the inclusion of Miesha Tate. This is simply a testament of how much the division is lacking in contenders right now. Nobody can deny that Tate pushed Rousey into a compelling fight last December. She landed a few solid combinations, along with actually taking her down on one occasion. Of course, the fight will always be remembered as Rousey€™s refusal of a handshake and Tate€™s poor game plan of trying to shoot in for double leg takedowns. Still it was an entertaining fight and the interest for it was tremendous. Tate still has plenty of work to do to warrant another title shot. She would need two more wins at minimum for critics to believe that she deserves one. If Tate can continue working on her stand-up, which is starting to improve, then we could see her possibly earn the third fight that she€™s been craving for. People love animosity and this fight will once again generate plenty of it. It will also generate a competitive battle, which is something we haven€™t seen in Rousey€™s past two fights. It€™s completely justifiable if you€™re done with seeing Tate in the title picture. In such a shallow division, she stands out considering that she's beating many women in the top ten. On a side note, since some people may be wondering why Gina Carano wasn't included on this list... she hasn't fought in nearly five years! There's little interest in seeing Rousey squash another opponent that nobody will label as a threat. This is MMA; threats are more compelling than commodities. Maybe not for casual fans, but they€™ll eventually smarten up in realizing that Carano won€™t have any chance unless she wins in a tune-up fight or two. Tate has at least shown that she can hang with Rousey for a few rounds and stay dedicated to the sport.
