5 Ways Yohan Cabaye Shows Crystal Palace Have Changed Forever

1. Riches

There is an obscene TV deal about to hit the Premier League and every club will be doing whatever it can do to either stay there or get there. This season will be brutal for every club with relegation at the forefront or even the back of their minds. Palace earned £78m in prize funds last year; I don€™t even know what that will translate to in 2017, my mind struggles with too many zeros; but £10m for Cabaye plus his wages will be a drop in the ocean if we€™re sat at the table when that massive money pie is served up. They say you have to speculate to accumulate and I don't think anyone would seriously question that this is Palace speculating to ensure Premier League status for the 2016-2017 season. With Cabaye signing, it looks like we could be saying €˜Goodbaye€™ to the days where we only felt comfortable looking down at who we could pinch from smaller clubs, felt guilt at the thought of spending money, worried that our best players were all leaving and harped on about our bald headed Messiah. With investment in the ground next on the agenda, it seems Cabaye€™s really not the limit.
