The Spanish Football Podcast

Beyond the obvious European giants: Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, the understanding of most English fans when it comes to La Liga is virtually non-existent. But don’t fear, Sid Lowe and Phil Kitromilides are on a two-man crusade to educate and inform about one of the most exciting leagues in world football.

Since starting in 2013, it has grown into the largest English-language La Liga podcast in the world. The podcast’s main selling point is the credentials of the presenters, Lowe is The Guardian’s La Liga expert and Kitrimilides is a broadcaster/commentator who has worked for Mediapro and Real Madrid TV – making them authoritative voices when it comes to Spanish football.

Unlike all the other podcasts on this list, as this podcast is completely independent, you have to support them financially on Patreon to access all of their content. The lowest tier of support is $5 a month which allows you to watch their bonus videos that include a morning paper review and their exclusive series: “21st Century Legends” and “Regions & Rivalries” that are each released once a month.

However, their main weekly podcast is still completely free and is ideal if just want a more detailed look at the goings on in La Liga.
