6 Main Card Predictions For UFC Fight Night: Souza vs. Mousasi

Things are looking a lot better than UFC 177.

Coming off a card that barely held water prior to the loss of main event fighter and former bantamweight champion Renan Barao, UFC Fight Night: Souza vs. Mousasi looks infinitely better. This is what a Pay-per-View card needs to look like, with the one missing element being the lack of a title fight. Still, if you asked us to choose between UFC 177 and UFC Fight Night 50 (as this is otherwise known as), we'd choose this card 99 times out of 100, and plead insanity in that one lone case. Just because Dillashaw vs. Soto didn't totally suck doesn't mean we're forgiving the UFC for their foolishly poor event planning in their last outing, but at least this card looks to deliver. Will it? Probably. In all honesty, UFC Fight Night 50 would probably have to actively work to fail, barring injuries. Every single fight on the card is competitive, there are two heavyweight tilts on the main card, there are fan favorites like Gregard Mousasi in the main event and Joe Lauzon earlier in the night, there's a interesting flyweight bout to open the show (and since the flyweights have yet to win over fans, opening the show is a good spot for them), and frankly the main event would be stellar if either fight had a title right now. One of the heavyweight bouts features Alistair Overeem, in a fight that may dictate whether he finally makes a run at the title, or turns out to be one of the biggest busts in UFC history. The other looks to be a violent fun fight that you shouldn't blink during. In other words, UFC Fight Night 50 is an event you don't want to miss - so lets review it, and take a look at predictions for all six fights on the main card!
