6 Reasons David Beckham's Olympic Snub Is A Disgrace

6. The Player

Everything else aside, at 37-years-old, David Beckham remains a fantastic footballer. While his pace may no longer be there, and his stamina reduced, his vision is as sharp as it was 10 years ago. He can still pick out a pass others won't even see. His workrate would be second to none in the Team GB and no one would bring the kind of passion that Beckham would offer. At set pieces, his deliveries would have unquestionably created chances. For Manchester United he tallied 152 assists in just 265 appearances. In his first season La Liga he hit more assists than any other player. As recently as last season in the MLS, he finished second in the table for assists. There is no doubt in my mind that Beckham would be huge asset both on and off the pitch. Do you agree? Should Beckham have been included in the Team GB squad?
