7 Reasons Why Lebron James Opted Out Of His Miami Heat Contract

6. To Allow Miami Heat To Sign Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo When Lebron James joined forces with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat in 2010, they created what a lot of people called a superteam. Imagine how super their team would be with the addition of Carmelo Anthony. Now you may be asking yourself, how is that financially possible? Well, as ESPN went into detail about, it would require Wade and Bosh to first opt out of their contracts as well. Then, just like in 2010, all three superstars would have to take another pay cut. Anthony would have to take the biggest pay cut of all since he was making max money in New York. Joining all four All Stars together would certainly prove to everyone that these players care much more about winning than money. Anthony will have his options though. ESPN sources have also reported that the former New York Knick will meet with three different teams once free agency starts on July 1st. Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls are all in the running for Anthony€™s services. Miami and Lebron better give Anthony a call before it€™s too late.
