8 Fighter Scandals That Rocked UFC In 2014

2. War Machine

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfX05hq63xM The only reason War Machine doesn't top this list is that he's an ex-UFC fighter, not a current one. Most recently he was with Bellator, who released him this summer after he allegedly assaulted porn star girlfriend (or ex-girlfriend depending on the rumour) Christy Mack and a friend at Mack's home. War Machine (he legally changed his names years ago) is no stranger to controversy or jail time. He and Mack had joked before that he would kill her for infidelity, with Mack joking that she would "deserve it." He also posted about going out in a blaze of glory if ever on the run from the cops. Well, after the Mack assault, on the run from the cops is exactly where War Machine was. He continued to post on Twitter while eluding cops for nearly a week before he was eventually picked up at a hotel outside L.A. (the assault took place in Nevada). That was August 15th. War Machine (aka Jonathan Koppenhaver) is now facing attempted murder charges. According to Mack, the fighter pressed a knife to her, attempted to rape her, beat her friend (Corey Thomas, of reality TV fame), threatened him and ordered him not to go to the police, amongst other offences. He is now looking at life in prison. Dana White was enraged that the media linked War Machine to the UFC, pointing out that he was fighting most recently for Bellator. The fighter appeared on The Ultimate Fighter 6. In the assault, Mack suffered broken bones in her face, a lacerated liver, broken ribs, and other injuries.
