8 Men Who Will Shape Man Utd's Title Challenge Next Season

1. Louis van Gaal

With David Moyes sacked, hope and expectation is once more riding high at Manchester United. Moyes was the wrong man for the job and that told when he was dismissed after just 10 months into his position. Many thought he lacked the experience and the nous to cut it at the very highest levels of management and they were right. One man who does know what it takes to succeed at the top is Louis van Gaal. The Dutchman has won league titles in three different countries - Holland, Spain and Germany - and guided the Netherlands into a third place finish at this summer's World Cup, The hope is he can transform United from seventh place flops into title contenders in a single season and he will certainly have a massive role in shaping the club's challenge for honours in 2014-15. He has already succeeded where Moyes so desperately failed by bringing in the new players United need in Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera - signings that should have been made last summer. And if the 7-0 win over LA Galaxy in the opening game of United's pre-season tour of the USA is anything to go by, he will succeed even further. United once more have a bright future under van Gaal, and surely the only way is up. Who do you think will shape Man Utd's season next term? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
