I should first point out that I am a huge football fan and there is rarely a week goes by that I don't find myself watching at least 3 or 4 matches of it. However the simple fact of the matter is there are many things rugby that makes it a much better sport. Firstly, the professional attitude of the players in rugby, compared to the overpaid Prime Donnas in football, is impeccable and for this reason you very rarely see the sort of things that ruin football, like players feigning injury or abusing the referee.

The fact that rugby fans tend to be a more respectful bunch than football fans also helps things along, making for a much more friendly atmosphere at matches and much more respect shown towards opposition players and the referees. These sort of things make the sport a much more enjoyable occasion for fans both within the stadiums and those watching at home. It also doesn’t hurt that scoring tends to be a lot more frequent in rugby in comparison to football, which also helps make things more entertaining.
