9 Football Legends Who Ended Up Hated By Their Fans

8. Carlos Tevez

In 2006, Carlos Tevez arrived at West Ham, shooting into a new stratosphere of fame when he scored the goal that salvaged three points to secure West Ham's Premier League survival, before moving to Man United on a two-year loan deal. Noisy fans encouraged a permanent move, singing €œFergie, sign him up," but something about the player clearly rubbed Fergie up the wrong way and as expected Tevez moved on. To United fans' dismay, bitter rivals Manchester City pounced, and crowed suitably loudly at their coup. Soon, the Manchester derby poured salt in the wounds of United as they watched Tevez find the target three times in the League Cup semi-final even though United ultimately triumphed. Despite his flood of goals, Sir Alex was proven right yet again, Tevez€™s relationship with City went south and Man United took satisfaction and a sadistic feeling of justice from his downfall. Nevertheless some United fans were left wondering at what ifs while the majority were happy to see the back of him when he ultimately moved to Juventus after a torrid final few months with City.
