Arsenal: 8 Incredible Urban Legends You Didn't Know About

1. Ian 'Ghostbuster' Wright

Highbury was long thought to be haunted by the eerie spectre of the departed chairman, Herbert Chapman, with many sightings reported - or at least many hearings reported - of old Herbie by members of staff as they walked through the silent stadium corridors late at night. Some heard things that went crash and bang in the distance and others simply felt an eerie presence over their shoulder. The strangest of the reports however, came from the groundsmen: often, on the morning of a home match, the groundsmen would head onto the pitch and find that both of the goals had been moved 5 inches to the right or left of centre. To this day there has been no explanation for the strange occurrences of Highbury stadium. Then came the signing of Ian Wright. Crashing his boots against the radiators, shouting his out of tune, out of time and out of this world songs through the corridors, hanging out of windows to argue with fans and laughing with such boisterous presence at the club, Herbert wasn't ever heard of again. So Is It True? You may need to decide this one for yourself? Is Ian Wright the spectre scarer, or is he just a lot more fun than making up ghost stories? Leave your answer in the comments below!
