Arsenal Next Manager: 10 Replacements For Arsene Wenger

1. Diego Simeone

It's impossible to overstate just what a brilliant job Diego Pablo Simeone has done at Atletico Madrid. When the former Argentina international - and ex-Atleti player - took control they were a club going nowhere. Generally hovering somewhere between mid-table and the Europa League places, they were never serious contenders for the La Liga crown (though they had some success in the Europa League). Under Simeone they have become a genuine force and contenders for trophies both at home and abroad. He led the club to the La Liga title in 2013/14 against the financial might of Barcelona and Real Madrid and has also won the Europa League and the Copa del Rey, and led the club to an unexpected Champions League final. He also had success before coming to Spain, winning titles in Argentina with Estudiantes and River Plate The only negative aspect might be his style of play. His Atletico have a reputation as being defensively solid and hard to beat, they aren't exactly the type of flair based entertainers the Emirates crowd would want to see. But, who's to say Simeone would not adapt his style to the players he has? Arsene Wenger is always complaining that the so called "financial doping" - the seemingly unlimited financial resources available to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United - makes winning the league title almost impossible. Simeone proved that he could do it in Spain. He could not complete financial with La Liga's big two, he lost his best players every summer and he still brought home and league title and made his side mentally unbreakable competitors. He could do the same at Arsenal, and maybe instead of talking about mental strength the team would actually show it. If Arsenal want a man to fix their flaws, then they need to contact Simeone.
