Arsenal Transfers: 5 Confederations Cup Stars Arsene Wenger Would Love To Sign

3. David Villa

Villa David Villa is another Spain star who is contesting the Confederations Cup this year as part of Vicente del Bosque's squad and he more than anyone else on this list will be hoping to turn in a few good performances as he attempts to convince rival managers to rescue him from his Barcelona misery. The Spaniard attempted to engineer a move away from the Nou Camp back in January when Arsenal first came calling and despite telling the club he wanted to quit, he ended up staying put. But he looks almost certain to leave Catalonia within the next few months and remains on Wenger's transfer wishlist. The World Cup and Champions League winner has won anything worth winning in football and his 14-year experience would be most welcomed at the Emirates. Though there are concerns over his age - he turns 32 in December - as well as his fitness - he missed virtually all of the 2011/12 season with a broken leg - there is no questioning his enduring eye for goal. Spain's all-time record goalscorer, he netted 16 times last season and could help pick up at least some of the slack dropped by the departed Robin van Persie.
