5. Fernando Lucas Martins
Not to be confused with FC Porto's Brazilian 26-year-old defensive midfielder Fernando Francisco Reges (although he too could be a favourable signing for the Gunners), Fernando Lucas Martins (Fernando for short) is a 21-year-old Brazilian who plays for FC Shakhtar Donetsk. After impressing at boyhood club Gremio, he joined Shakhtar this summer, after interest from a variety of European teams, as a replacement for Ferandinho, a
reported fee of 11 million. Although not the most imposing of midfielders at 5ft 8in, he is very quick off the mark allowing him to sweep up possession and his composure on the ball allows up to out a team-mate with ease. There has been interest from European clubs, although that seems to have quietened down since his arrival at Shakhtar, and only time will tell whether Shakhtar consider any offers with the players being at the club for such a short period of time.
