5. Micah Richards
Dave Thompson/PA Wire/Press Association ImagesIn his past two seasons with Manchester City, Micah Richards has made just 9-league appearances. Unfortunately his paltry 2 league appearances in the 2013/14 season meant that the right back was ineligible to receive a winners meddle despite being signed with the Champions. Richards hasnt been benched due to injury though: he has been muscled out of the team by Argentine Pablo Zabaleta, who has for the past two years been one of the Champions finest players (begging the question of why they have signed Sagna). This lack of playing time led to Richards turning down a renewed contract with City a sure sign that he intends to try his luck elsewhere in the 2014/15 season. The inactivity of Micah Richards is a great shame as at his best the right-back is one of the most powerful runners in the Premier League. Combining size, strength and speed, Richards was known for his bombing runs down the wing; indeed, back in 2007 it seemed like he would become a major cog in the England squad. At 26 years of age, Richards is certainly making a wise career decision in choosing to get the amount of game time he deserves at another club. The implementation of Richards would add some proven quality to Arsenals back four, though rumours are circulating that Liverpool are also interested.
