The 31-year-old Frenchman will be joining Premier League juggernauts Manchester City as a free agent, turning down a renewed three year deal worth £90,000-a-week with the Gunners. Many have criticised the right-back for this move as the likelihood is that Pablo Zabaleta will still be City's first choice; believing that Sagna is far more motivated by the £150,000-a-week salary than the prospect of playing plenty of football. Regardless of Sagna's motivation for leaving, the fact of the matter is that Arsenal's already suspect defence now needs supplementing. Carl Jenkinson is still not ready to be the North London club's starting right-back so Arsene Wenger has his work cut out for him.
