5. Ashley Williams
Arsenals defence conceded 37 Premier League goals last season which was the second lowest in the top-four but the games that Arsenal did concede in such as three in the Newcastle game, which finished 7-3, the defence looked tired and poor. Bringing in new blood to the Arsenal defence is something the club desperately need to achieve. Swansea defender Ashley Williams has already been
linked with a move to the Emirates and with Thomas Vermaelen rumoured to be on his way out, Williams could be a perfect addition to the squad. Williams has proven himself as a strong defender who can easily rise to the challenge of playing for Arsenal. Williams was part of a defence that saw of the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea proving Williams can battle with the best. Not only has Swanseas number six impressed on club level but has had a real push internationally speaking, playing in ten international fixtures in the 2012/13 period. According to
The Sun, Williams is believed to be available for as little £8 million but even if Swansea hold out for £12 million, Arsenal would be grabbing the central-defender for a reasonable price.
