Arsenal vs Bayern Munich: 5 Things We Learnt From The First Leg

4. The Arsenal Decline Continues

Very few people in this world like to see anyone suffer and the combined decline of Arsenal and Arsene Wenger is proving difficult to watch (unless you happen to live in London N17). The half time whistle which resulted in a chorus of boos from around the Emirates felt like the footballing equivalent of a standing 8 count rather than the usual signal to start queuing for the expensive bars. To be fair at 1-2 in the second half the Gunners looked back in the game and the Olivier Giroud chance could be seen as a bit of a game changer yet deep down every Arsenal fan probably knew it was never going to be enough. Whatever your view of Arsene Wenger you can€™t argue that he hasn't had a profoundly positive effect on Arsenal Football Club and if his time in charge is coming to an end then hopefully for all parties the final act is as pain free as is possible.
