Aston Villa Vs Spurs: 5 Things We Expect To See

3. Andros Townsend Stepping Up His Game

As previously mentioned, Andros Townsend earned his first two caps for England in their victories against Montenegro (4-1) and Poland (2-0) and he played a massive part in England's ultimate qualification for next year's World Cup in Brazil. The speedy winger scored a superb right-footed effort on his debut against Montenegro and earned himself the Man of the Match award in doing so. It was as good as we've seen Townsend play, full stop - it even surprised some Spurs fans to see him play that well. As a result, he has been rewarded with a new contract at White Hart Lane and he will now be expected to take his performances up to the next level in the Premier League - unfortunately for Aston Villa - starting at Villa Park. His driving runs, leaving defenders in his wake for England, and long-distance goal have led many to believe that he could actually be the Gareth Bale replacement that Spurs have been looking for. Only time will tell.
