Aston Villa Vs Spurs: 5 Things We Expect To See

1. A Close Match

While Spurs should go in to this game with a psychological advantage over their opponents, having slaughtered them 4-0 in the League Cup just last month, this will be a different game entirely, as both teams prioritise the league and will be fielding much stronger sides in this game. Since that League Cup tie, Villa haven't been beaten - having drawn away at Hull City in their last game and, more impressively, defeated Manchester City 3-2 on the very ground they are due to play Spurs. Given the strength in depth of Tottenham's squad - and indeed the generally undoubtedly better quality of their players - they will go in to this match as strong favourites, despite their loss against West Ham, but it won't be the walkover that the League Cup tie was. This one will be close, and Spurs should really edge it, but they'll know they've been in a match. So there you have it; Five things we expect to see when Aston Villa host Spurs. Do you agree?
