Best Premier League XI Ever

Right Mid: Cristiano Ronaldo

Considering Ronaldo grew into arguably the best player in the world during his time in the Premier League (then somehow went to Spain and got better), there can be no doubt of his place in this team. His penultimate season saw him score 31 goals in 34 games, although he blew the doors off that stat at Real Madrid with an eye watering 48 goals in 35 games five seasons later. Even if Man Utd didn't get the supercharged Ronaldo Real Madrid did, he still walks into the team. He was just that good.

He moved more into the centre during his later years at Man Utd, but was a traditional right mid number 7 most of his time there. He showed no signs of feeling the pressure of replacing David Beckham, and after some early immaturity and a tendency to show style over substance, he annihilated all opponents.

Despite having his best years away from the Premier League, he’s still in the conversation for greatest Premier League player ever, regardless of position. He's guaranteed to go down as one of the game's all time greats and Man Utd have never really found a number seven since.

In fact, Utds 7’s (Owen, Valencia, Depay, Di Maria, Sanchez) have scored a combined 14 goals in the shirt since he left; Ronaldo has scored 332.
