Chelsea: 5 Reasons Why Pep Guardiola Was Right To Snub Blues

2. He Can Still Take Over From Sir Alex Ferguson

Pep Guardiola could have just walked into the Chelsea job had he so wished, there is no permanent incumbent manager at Stamford Bridge and the opportunity was there for the taking. But he didn't do that, instead, as we now know, he has agreed to take over at Bayern Munich. Could it be though that he is merely biding his time at Bayern until a vacancy becomes available at Manchester United? He wasn't going to walk into the United job this month with Ferguson showing no signs of moving on, so perhaps he rejected Chelsea so he could end up at Man United instead? It would make sense - at Bayern he can further enhance his already impressive CV to make him the stand-out candidate for the United job in years to come, whereas had he gone to Chelsea, his reputation as a Premier League manager could have been left in tatters had he suffered an ignominious sacking like all the rest.
