Chelsea Transfers: 10 DREAM Signings Jose Mourinho Could Make This Month

6. Ross Barkley

As Jose Mourinho gets set to hand out new, one-year rolling contracts to his 'three amigos' John Terry, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard, the latter is another star who cannot go on forever. Lampard has been a great servant for Chelsea in midfield, overtaking Bobby Tambling's long-standing goalscoring record to become the Blue's all-time scorer with 209 strikes. A four-time winner of the FA Cup, three-time winner of the Premier League and one-time winner of the Champions and Europa League with Chelsea, there is no doubting his ability. But a time will come to usher in the new guard and Ross Barkley would be a step in the right direction in those regards. Barkley is fast-becoming something of a sensation at Everton and is being heralded as the biggest star to break through at Goodison Park since Wayne Rooney. Also a target for Manchester United, Barkley has been making waves in the Premier League this season with his three topflight goals with the Blues weighing up a £20 million bid. Barkley is a young player with the world at his feet and could give the best years of his career to Chelsea, and there's something quite fitting about replacing one Englishman with another.
