Chelsea Transfers: 5 Flops Jose Mourinho Must Move On Immediately

4. John Obi Mikel

For the majority of this campaign many Chelsea fans have had complaints about the state of their midfield. Teams like Man City and Benfica have cut through their teams with their slick passing football and Chelsea have had very little in the way of response. Mikel is very much a weak link in the Chelsea squad and his presence in Midfield is quite simply not good enough. Mikel signed for the club seven years ago this summer and in 182 appearances for the London club he has managed to not hit the net once. It€™s not that Mikel is a bad player but in a squad with the likes of Mata, Lampard, Oscar and Hazard he just doesn€™t compete. In December 2012 the Nigerian born Mikel signed a new 5 year deal with Chelsea that would keep him at the club until 2017. Mourinho will certainly want to bring some new faces into the Chelsea midfield so expect Mikel to be one of the ones potentially facing the chop.
