Chelsea Transfers: 5 Flops Jose Mourinho Must Move On Immediately

1. Fernando Torres

When I first posed the question to Chelsea fans on Twitter yesterday concerning who they wanted to see the back of, opinions were split on Mr Torres. Arriving at the club in January 2011 Torres arrived on a huge wave of momentum, costing the club £50 million from rivals Liverpool. Torres had set Anfield on fire, 65 goals in 102 appearances made his price tag seem anything but questionable, ask any Koppite and they will tell you how gutted they were to lose him. However things soon changed and Liverpool must have found themselves laughing all the way to the bank when Torres took 903 minutes to net his first goal which came against West Ham. Torres bad form continued to be the butt of many jokes and Internet memes and his teething problems at Chelsea have made him a hot topic in terms of whether he has been worth the cash. I say teething problems because despite many critics Torres has had some what of a rebirth this season under Rafa Benitez. The Spaniard has scored 22 times in 64 games this past season and this is a considerable improvement on his first few years, though he still remains a shadow of his former self. Can Mourinho finally help Torres rediscover the form that made him such a star a few years back? Should Chelsea keep Torres or sell him on, count their losses and try and find a better replacement? It appears the jury still remains out on this matter.
