1. The Big Gloves Will Hinder Conor's Power

The announcement that they'll be fighting with 10 ounce gloves was expected, but is a blow to Conor McGregor's chances. While they were never going to fight with the 4 oz gloves that are standard in the UFC, even negotiating Mayweather down to 8 oz could make a big difference. McGregor has a puncher's chance in this fight, but putting together combinations against a guy like Mayweather will be such a herculean challenge.

Bigger gloves helps Mayweather if McGregor is able to clock him once. Mayweather has been clipped before. Ricky Hatton tagged him hard early in their fight for example, but Mayweather withstood it, and rolled on to victory yet again in the later rounds as Hatton was unable to capitalise on his one big moment in the bout.

Conor has it in him to land that one big punch in this fight, and if he does, he'll need to make it count.
