Crystal Palace At Christmas - 6 Things We Learned

3. Patrick Bamford Won't Be Missed

'If I were being honest, it has been terrible... I would have been more content if I had been given a chance and not taken it. I haven't started a game in the Premier League so for a young player like me that is not what you need.' Patrick Bamford believes that Crystal Palace owed him a few starts. That because other forwards weren't scoring freely that he should have just played. He believes that he didn't need to bother proving himself every day in training and bust a gut when he got a chance to play. He is Patrick Bamford so he should just be given chances. Back in October Keirh Millen told the South London Press that Bamford was struggling with the step up to a Premier League club. Not just on the pitch, he struggled with the rigours of training so we know he wasn't adapting well. Despite having an excellent season last for Middlesbrough, Patrick Bamford is not as good as Patrick Bamford thinks he is. Bamford is going back to Chelsea where he won't have a chance of playing and now that he has chosen to cut short his loan, rather than fight to play, he has shown potential suitors that he doesn't have the desire to fight for his career. He wants everything on a plate. Palace have a bit of an injury crisis at the moment and he probably would have got a run of games throughout January. Instead he has decided to cut and run. We wish him well but he won't be missed.
