Everton 3-3 Liverpool: Player Ratings

Everton

Tim Howard: Beaten three times from set pieces, but also saved well in open play from Suarez and others. Hard to blame the American for any of the goals conceded. 5/10.

Seamus Coleman: When Baines got injured attacking emphasis from the back shifted to the Irishman and he put the odd clever ball in. Has come on leaps and bounds, but quiet for long spells here. 5.5/10. Phil Jagielka: Threw himself into challenges, but the Toffees captain will not be pleased by disorganisation of his defence at set plays. Members of both back fours were never going to get favourable marks after a 3-3 draw. 5/10. Sylvain Distin: Defended well and handled Suarez pretty well in open play. Again it would be lunacy to give a favourable rating to a centre back whose defensive unit was beaten three times. 5/10. Leighton Baines: Free kick made Mirallas's goal early on. Threat faded when England teammate Henderson stamped on his toe accidentally. Martinez must hope this is not too serious both for club and country. Subbed early in second half. 5.5/10. James McCarthy: Should've stayed on the line rather than being behind when Coutinho scored the opener. Big money signing from Wigan atoned for this by teeing up Lukaku equaliser at 2-2. 5.5/10.
