Every Premier League Club's Worst Ever Goalkeeper

9. Manchester United - Massimo Taibi

There could only be one.

Perhaps the most infamous goalkeeper in the history of British football, Massimo Taibi was signed by Alex Ferguson in attempt to fill the Peter Schmeichel-sized hole that had remained in the club since the great Dane's departure in 1999.

The Italian's £4.5million fee was expensive for a goalkeeper by the turn of the Millennium standards, and big things were expected of Taibi at Old Trafford. Just four appearances later, including a notoriously gaffe-ridden performance against Southampton, and Taibi's status as United's worst-ever goalkeeper was cemented.

Despite his reputation with the Red Devils, its worth noting that Taibi would go on to enjoy a decent career in his native country, eventually hanging up his gloves in 2009.
