Sometimes an entire club career can be boiled down to a single fatal error. This is perhaps most true for goalkeepers, where the consequences of a lapse of concentration almost always end up with the ball in the back of the net.

For Finnish international Peter Enckelman, his five years at Aston Villa are often boiled down to one embarrassing misstep.

After finally breaking into the first team after years of successive stints as understudy to David James and Peter Schmeichel, Enckleman finally made the first team in 2002 but would write himself into Villa infamy after allowing a seemingly innocuous throw-in from teammate Olof Mellberg trickle into his net. Enckelman would leave the club at the end of the season and never again managed to hold down a starting spot at an English club.
