Ex-Newcastle Midfielder Yohan Cabaye Admits Alan Pardew Reunion Would Be A "Pleasure"

The Dreamboat is pining for a return to England - and a reunion with Pardew.

Newcastle United supporters would love to see Yohan Cabaye back on Tyneside - but the midfielder has instead admitted it would be a "pleasure" to link up with Alan Pardew once again at Crystal Palace. The Eagles, Aston Villa and Arsenal are all believed to be interested in the 29-year-old, with Cabaye revealing in an interview with French TV that he is considering a move back to the Premier League. Cabaye, a 38-cap France international midfielder, moved to Paris Saint-Germain from Newcastle in January 2014 for £20 million and has made 53 appearances and won two Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de la Ligue trophies and a Coupe de France since.
However, his international prospects have been damaged due to the fact he is being utilised primarily off the bench - and he was even dropped from a couple of recent France squads. The 29-year-old is therefore exploring his options and, with Newcastle failing to come calling to bring him back to Tyneside so far, it appears a move to south London could be on the cards. Speaking to Infosport+, Cabaye revealed his admiration for Pardew. The midfielder said:
"It went very well with him (Pardew, at Newcastle). I enjoyed it with him and he does a great job. "The most important thing is to find fun - if I have to make that decision, it will be a pleasure to see my old coach. "(The Premier) League (is something) I like, (and) the country too. "There may be an opportunity - as there may be others. The important thing is that I will think carefully and make the decision."
Not only is Cabaye keen to join up with his former boss Pardew, the former Lille midfielder is also said to have his heart set on living in London - and that is another reason why he will likely choose Palace over Villa. Cabaye signed for Newcastle from Lille for £4.5 million in the summer of 2011 and went on to make 93 appearances for the Magpies, scoring 18 goals. A firm fans€™ favourite in the North East - he was dubbed €œDreamboat€ by supporters - the Toon faithful would love nothing more than to see him return, but Newcastle are yet to show any interest in the midfielder despite supposedly having a €œwar chest€ to spend this summer.
