Fantasy Premier League Tips 2014: 15 Best Point-Per-Pound Buys

11. Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa) £4.5m

Last Season's Points Total: 92. Ron Vlaar's tally of 92 fantasy league points last season wasn't great, but he was Aston Villa's highest scoring defender by a huge margin and for £4.5 million you could buy him and not even worry if you had to sit him on your bench - and he'd be a decent substitute to have even if that was the case. As we've already stated in the previous entry, Villa should be looking to improve this season after a summer of minor and sensible change, so Vlaar's points tally should actually increase as a result. The Dutch international had a spectacular World Cup as well - one that not only means he'll be going in to the season full of confidence, but one that has meant he's been linked to a number of higher-profile Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur - so he could even end up playing for a better team, making his chances of scoring more points even higher.
