9. Stopping Fernando
Praise be to God that Fernando Torres hasn't scored against Liverpool yet. To be honest, in most of his appearances against Liverpool, Torres hasn't even looked like scoring but he did have a hugely clear sight of goal on his debut against the Reds back in 2011. It was Fernando's first game since his fateful
£50 million switch to Chelsea and it all looked as if the script was set for a former star to haunt his old employers. The script seemed even more set in stone when Torres was sent in on goal by Didier Drogba with seemingly nobody left to stop him. All of a sudden a big, Scouse ball of Red came flying in from Torres' left and the Spaniard's rather limp shot was blocked away by Mr Dependable himself. It was the kind of storyline you'd see in a comic book! The departed hero, back to attack his former friends and the unsung hero, who remained loyal to the cause, is there to stop him. I think it meant more to the fans than it did to him, he just brushed it off as if it was just some other striker. But one thing is for certain, if Carra had failed all Liverpool fans would have felt the pain of a former hero rubbing salt into the wounds.
